LEAD PROJECT ECOLOGIST WITH THE BREEDING WADERS EIP
The Breeding Waders EIP Project was officially launched at Shannon
Harbour on Tuesday, May *nd by the Minister for
Agriculture, Food and the Marine. It focuses on conserving and
boosting populations of species such as Curlew, Redshank, Lapwing,
Snipe, Dunlin, Golden Plover, Oystercatcher, Ringed Plover, Common
Sandpiper, and Red-necked Phalarope through comprehensive landscape
management and policy development.
IRL IS NOW SEEKING TO EMPLOY A LEAD PROJECT ECOLOGIST
The successful candidate must have the ability to work in and lead
teams in the collection of field data and have strong ornithological
knowledge and skills. They should show experience in the preparation
of a wide range of reports and analyses such as Habitats Directive
Appropriate Assessment, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Ecological
Impact Assessment, bespoke habitat assessments and similar. The
successful candidate will also need experience in the design and
implementation of ecological surveys of Irish breeding waders and
their habitats, analysis of ecological data, and preparation of
management plans and project plans. Further demonstrated project
experience across a range of other ecological disciplines will be of
value.
REPORTING TO: Project Manager
LOCATION: Main Office in Moate Co. Westmeath, this position will be
flexible
